We are the leading outdoor adventure company in Mérida, a town set deep in the heart of the Venezuelan Andes of South America.

Established in 1990 by John Peña, we first specialised in hiking and mountaineering expeditions. Today, we offer high quality outdoor tours and adventures to nearly every corner of Venezuela. Mountains, jungles, rivers, lowlands, beaches, and waterfalls - Venezuela has it all, and Guamanchi Expeditions takes you there!

We offer tours, for all ages, abilities, interests, budgets, and experience. From the heights of Pico Bolivar (the highest in Venezuela) to the flatlands of Los Llanos . From the thrills of tandem paragliding , to the tranquility of bird watching . Ride up a mountain side on a mountain bike , or descend the river for some white water rafting . Rappel down water falls for some canyoning or descend the river by kayak .

Enjoy the comforts of our very own ' Posada Guamanchi ' in the unspoilt Andean village of Los Nevados , or 'rough it' in a remote campesino hut in a forgotten misty valley.

And... to give you our best welcome, just come and stay in our Posada Guamanchi in the centre of Merida, just next to the teleferico.
