From Caracas to Merida, you can travel by night bus or by plane.
The night bus takes between 12 and 15 hours and leave from Terminal La Bandera, downtown Caracas. Few companies have their private terminal like Flamingo who has his office next to Parque del Este, Caracas. All the companies are good, like Expresso Flamingo, Los Llanos, Merida, Occidente. The buses are comfortable but it’s very cold inside because they keep on the air conditioner all night long. Bring a good sweater and a blanket.
From the Merida bus terminal, catch a taxi. The price is 15 Bs.f for a 15 minutes ride.
By plane, you can fly to Merida or El Vigía airports, both in Merida State. The flight takes about 1 hour. 3 companies are doing this route:
From Merida airport, catch a taxi. The price is 15 Bs.f for a 15 minutes ride. From El Vigia Airport, catch a taxi. The actual price is 130 Bs.f for a 1:15 minutes ride. Arriving by car, follow the signs of the cable car. We are located on Street 24th, between Av. 8 and Las Heroínas Square, at 50m. Look on the right side before Las Heroínas Square and 200m before the cable car.
